So, after drudging myself and my PC through Hell and back again, I sit here writing this post very tired and very much regretting updating Windows.
I was running Vista for about 2-3 years, ever since unpacking my laptop, and then decided I would try and upgrade to windows 7. Little did I know, my version of Vista required me to literally erase all of my files stored on the local hard drive. That was 48 hours ago. Since then, I have had no computer of my own, so I haven’t been able to update or post to the site. What I wasn’t expecting was how much I relied on my folders upon folders of internet bookmarks – all of which were lost. Thankfully, I had stored my photos and most of my music on my external Western Digital hard drive, but now I am running a nice, fully functional Windows 7 – with none of my previous files or programs. So tonight was spent installing my essentials, as per the list below:
Photo Mechanic
Adobe Photoshop CS3
Adobe Lightroom 2
Firefox
BitTorrent
iTunes (Though I hate it, there’s none that can replace it.)
CCleaner
VLC Media Player
JDarkRoom (Minimalist Text Editor)
Avast Anti-Virus
OpenOffice.org (Trying it for the first time!)
My goal for this new build of my PC is to keep my installed programs to that minimum number above [save any that are required for future classes].
Anyway, I haven’t really shot anything good so far this week, but I’m looking forward to the weekend. I’ll be shooting ~4 different assignments, and training 3 of the new recruits – so I’m definitely looking good as far as getting something good up here on the site!
Until then, this was for the story about the Primary Elections. The plan was for me to shoot voters respectfully, but the ballot workers kicked me out to beyond the ‘Electioneering Point’ – otherwise known as the side of the street. So, basically I was confined to getting students walking by ‘not taking the initiative to vote in the Primary Election.’ Here’s the best I got:
